heart pendant

We chose this pendant for it's ease of construction, flexibility in design options and hip look.
Materials:
  • (1) Hoop Earring (to use as the base)
  • 24g Soft Sterling Wire
  • 6" Sterling Chain
  • (1) Heart Bead
  • (1) 2" Headpin
  • Wirecutter
  • Chain-nose or crimp pliers
  • Round-nose pliers
Steps:
  1. Cut the chain inyo two 1/2 " pieces, and cut the remaining 5" into four equal pieces.

  2. Place headpin through heart bead and create a wire wrapped loop capturing the two 1/2 pieces of chain in the loop, set aside.

  3. Create a loop in the center of the 24g wire and slide the four remaining pieces of chain into the loop.

  4. With the loop centered on the bootom of the hoop, gently wrap the wire around the hoop until each side is 1/2" from the center of the top. Ispace the wraps about a 1/4" apart and don't worry about perfection, as this is a funky pendant and the imperfections are part of it's charm.

  5. Slide the ends of the chain onto each of wires and continue wrapping the hoop until you have reached the center.

  6. Make a loop on top and wrap the wire. Trim and tack end.
